Somersault is a complex painting consisting of multiple layers and concentrated areas of texture. For this piece, I worked from a dark base layer and slowly added warm pinks and coopers alongside neutrals and yellows to give it depth and interest. From there, I finished this piece with white molding paste to give it an extra dimension with texture. This piece is the perfect balance between a dramatic composition and a stunning color palette.
